and in that moment, the entire movie theater burst into tears

i think this was the moment that made most of us despise umbridge more than voldemort

most of us?! don’t you mean ALL of us?? I don’t think even Voldemort liked this bitch!

No one likes Umbridge.

I heard, one time, a dementor kissed her and IT died

Voldemort committed genocide, but Umbridge dared to be female while she abused her power.

The point isn’t that Umbridge was worse than Voldemort; it’s that everyone hates her more. And I think it has nothing to do with her being a woman and everything with being the sort of cruel most of us have actually experienced.
I mean, look at Voldemort. He’s basically Wizard Hitler, which is, obviously, an incredibly terrible thing to be. But most people—especially the younger people in Harry Potter’s target audience—have not had their parents murdered by a xenophobic cult leader. Nor have they fought for their lives against giant snakes, been kidnapped for dark rituals, or watched numerous friends die in front of them. Voldemort’s crimes are numerous, but they’re distant and fantastical, like hearing about a serial killer on the news.
But they have had that one teacher who inflicts extra punishments just because they don’t like you. They’ve complained to parents and authorities only to be ignored. They’ve sat through pointless classes and been silenced when they criticize. Umbridge is that teacher we all hated because she made our lives miserable and we were powerless to stop her. And as we grow out of school, there are still people in positions of power who act like her. The manager who denies your schedule requests and penalizes you for invented infractions. That customer who complains to corporate because their scam didn’t work, and the corporate decision to listen to their story. Cops performing illegal searches because they know you don’t have any proof.
Yes, torturing and killing numerous people is worse than terrorizing a handful of schoolchildren, but Voldemort is the bad guy in a fairy tale. Umbridge is personal.

*drops the mic*

Voldemort is the villain we never hope to face.
Umbridge is the villain we face every day.

thank you all-four-cheekbones some people on this website need to realise not everything is a matter of sexism or gender discrimination omg

When I say I want to read the book before seeing the movie, I don’t want brownie points or bragging rights. I want to be able to read the book with my imagined world and idea of the characters without the movie’s influence at least once. After you see the movie there’s always some part of it that sticks in your head for a long time and you lose the enjoyment of making it up yourself.

Okay this needs to stop. Reblog this and inform others like family, friends, neighbors..etc to not attempt to kill people over a made up horror creature. Obviously some people aren’t being well educated so take the time to inform others.
Anyways the article for the story is found here

Why the fuck are kids suddenly killing people over nothing more than ghost stories, or has this been going on for ages and I just never heard about it.

ElloCaptain: whoa when I posted this I didn’t think it was going to get this many notes thanks for spreading around and informing others guys!

Ok kids, time for Reality and Media Skewing 101
The original article simply recalled how the girl was mental disturbed and her mother KNEW IT. She even commented on how her drawings and writing were getting darker and darker.
It wasn’t until the mother was informed of the Waukesha Slenderman-based stabbing that she informed the reporters “Oh yeah… she was a fan of that Slenderman guy.”
The buzzword had already taken its effect, and the media jumped all over it claiming that this act was DEFINITELY because of the new social scapegoat, The Fictional Character, Slenderman.
I WILL PUT MURPHY JR’S COLLEGE FUND ON THIS
If, the girls in Waukesha, and this girl in Ohio were fans of Cthulhu, a written, published and well documented literary fictional beast, then there would have been NO DOUBT IN ANYONE’S MIND, that these girls were Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!
The only reason Slenderman has taken so much heat, is because only a small percentage of the world knows about creepypasta, and when you don’t know about something, it is easily feared, it is easily misunderstood and it is easily blamed for all of the troubles in your life.
The media’s blame of Slenderman and Creepypasta is no different from The McCarthy Hearings… where EVERYONE was a Communist, and no different from The Salem Witch Trials where EVERYONE was a witch.
And since we force ourselves to stay blind to the truths of these matters, we are doomed to repeat history as many times as it’ll take for us to open our eyes.

STOP THE MADNESS! … Creepypasta wasnt meant to hurt people! … just to creep them out and for them to enjoy the creepyness! … Its for weird people (like myself) who love dark and creepy things. DONT FREAKING DO STUFF LIKE THAT! THEY ARE MADE UP STORIES AND ARE NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!!!!! I SWEAR! THE PEOPLE THAT ARE OUT THERE THESE DAYS GIVE ME A FREAKING HEADACHE!!!! ……. I mean come on now! Its rediculous! It’s one thing to like Slenderman, but this, this is taking it WAAAAAAAAAAAY to freaking far!
*Sigh* …….. ok, my rant is over ………….

Seriously, I never want to here about yet another story like this! People are taking horror themed things too far, and someone needs to put an end to this!
